OBJECTS OF INQUIRY

We continue to work towards resolving some genealogical enigmas. Since 2004 great progress has been made in connecting family groups which, until recently, could not be included in our published directory because of missing links. The following couples are now connected to their ancestors: Onésime Dubé and Geneviève Kwetict/Kaweiasiketc (1866) from Wemotaci; Clément Dubé and Isabelle-Élizabeth Bergeron (1875) from Lancaster, New Hampshire; Évariste Dubé and Eugénie Lemieux (ca. 1881) from Sainte-Louise de l’Islet; Louis Dubé, born in Saint-Arsène of Rivière-du-Loup, and Desneiges Beaudoin (ca. 1898); Alfred Dubé, who was born to Alfred and Adèle Ouellet in Salem, Massachusetts, and first married M.-Adélina Désilets (1917) and later wed Jeannette Bisson (1932) in Sherbrooke. These new connections allowed us to include their very important descendancy in our directory Les Descendants de Mathurin Dubé et Marie Campion published in 2006. Since publication, we have added more connections in our databank: Philippe Viens dit Dubé and Parmélie Pellerin (1917) from Bromptonville; Léo Dubé and Rose-Aimée Dumais (ca. 1930) from Duck Lake, Saskatchewan. Finally, a recent contact through our website allowed us to connect Octave Dubé, spouse of Valérie (Vinnie) Michaud (Caribou, Maine, 1893), to his ancestors in New Brunswick.

Anglophones visiting our site are reminded that our Association is anxious to establish contacts with all descendants of Dubés who left Canada and the Province of Quebec for the United States. We have made a list of particular couples mentioned on our Wanted Notices. We would like their descendants to get in touch with us, as the information they received through oral tradition would greatly help to fill gaps remaining in the valuable information already gathered. Please send us an e‑mail by clicking Contact Us. Of course, we will gladly answer visitors’ genealogical questions in the context of such an exchange of information.
